a shade, braver (part two)

Easy option: check!
Now for something slightly more fiddly but adorable.

While the cards idea was cute, it wasn’t delivering enough punch. In perusing my supplies, “punch” came in the form of felt balls that were part of a wonderful gift pack from my friend Mette. (If you don’t have a stash of your own, thank goodness for Etsy, where tons of sellers have these in their shops.)

Next came some sheets of thick felt. Again, remnants from another project and just sitting there waiting to be used. I simply snipped these into tiny triangles.

The fiddly part came in the form of stringing them all together, alternating balls and triangles to make a fun lampshade bunting.

Strung across the shade, the punch was achieved…

Maybe a little bit twee? Yeah. And maybe not quite the look I was hoping to achieve. Next!

One more try is on the cards. Gimme a couple of days to see the winner.

Lovely idea Jen! Option three (on Thursday) involves some sticking. Stay tuned.
And the lamp base is from B&Q and the shade was in the Habitat sale 3 years ago… A bargain at £12.50.

interesting ideas. Maybe you could try sticking papercuts to the outside to give a silhouette when the lamp is on, a la japanese shadow puppets? just a thought…

oh and where did you get your lamp from, I love the colour. jx
