So I don’t really know what these are…
Some retailers call them ‘baskets’, others ‘storage bags’. Whatever the moniker, they are a new and fabulous laminated fabric bag-type-thing with handles and they are just so covetable. Ferm Living and Varpunen do them best so far, but I am sure we will be seeing more of these pop up over time.
So being the cheapskate crafter that I am, and not quite willing to shell out the cash to buy one, I decided to make my own. Luckily, I had previously stumbled upon this:
It’s Heat’n’Bond iron-on vinyl that let’s you laminate fabric or paper with the use of a domestic iron, and it’s a bit of a crafters dream.
So with leftover Social Nesting fabric via Spoonflower, the vinyl and a rainy afternoon, I followed the instructions, laminated my fabric, pulled out the sewing machine and came up with this nifty little bucket.
Now truly, I need a storage bucket like a moose needs a hat rack, so I decided to put it to decorative use as the surround to a plain plant pot that is generally overshadowed by its surroundings.
Well step forward little plant pot – and work that bag!

Gorgeous, huh? They are a variety of sizes. The Ferm Living ones are quite big. The Varpunen ones are smaller. Mine is about 30cm high…
I love the storage bags! How big are they?
Oooo that looks like FUN!
But, I hear you on the moose hatrack thingy. I need a bag to store all my BAGS!
