The Toronto Interior Design Show was impressive on so many levels, but none more so than the championioning of truly great Canadian design.
And we were thrilled to encounter such truly local treasures, one of which with the brilliant Toronto-based Lightmaker Studio.
Their collection on show was a gasp-worthy mix of chic and contemporary ceiling and wall lights with the occasional nod to mid-century style via conical and orbist forms, hand-blown glass and maximum polish.
The one piece that made our chests pound the hardest was the Zig-Zag wall light…
Brilliantly styled against a mahogany panel, the display commanded we channel our inner-moth as we were uncontrollably drawn to the brass and glass form.
The details are stunning: the cross connectors and tubing, the brass, the bulbs…
This is high on the covet list for Social Nesting HQ as we are imagining a pair flanking every piece of furniture and objet in our midst. Can you blame us?
