If anyone else is feeling an aural void since the end of the hugely popular NPR podcast Serial, today saw the launch of First Day Back – a new cast on the pod that is very close to my heart (and my pen)…

The reasons: firstly, it is made by my very talented friend, the documentary filmmaker Tally Abecassis.

Tally is a seasoned storyteller and via First Day Back, she is on a mission to figure out the next phase of her life while taking us on the journey with her.

It is alternately sweet and serious and it contains both laugh-out-loud moments and some quite raw reflections. Stuff that even I didn’t know about despite our long friendship.

Layer onto that the pride I feel to have been a small part of the process (the logo and web banner) and today was a nice day for a listen.
